The hot pot game!
Another fun game the whole family can play. This one is less competitive and no one can lose. It’s a win-win!
Another fun game the whole family can play. This one is less competitive and no one can lose. It’s a win-win! (Therefore also a great game for children’s parties)
What you need
All you need is a pot, a wooden spoon, a blindfold and a treat for each person. The treat could be sweets or chocolate or fruit or something non-edible, like hair accessories or a pack of cards. (But it need not be expensive!)
How to play
The person who is on has the blindfold on and the wooden spoon in hand. You can spin them around a couple of times to make them a little disorientated. Someone else has to very silently hide the pot in the same room. The pot is placed upside down with the treat inside.
The person who is on then has to use the wooden spoon to negotiate their way around the room, banging on objects to find the “hot pot”, whilst the onlookers call out “warm”, “hot” or “cold” depending on where the person is in relation to the hot pot. There is usually a lot of banging on the actual pot when it is found. This is not necessary to the success of the game, but fair warning that it’s just what happens!
It’s lots of fun, make sure adults that you take your turn and trust your kids to lead you when you have your blindfold on!
It is recommended that hot pot is played outside maybe on a verandah, safe from the wooden spoon.
